Miscanthus transmorrisonensis features narrow, elongated leaves that arch gracefully outward from the centre of the clump. The leaves have a fine, delicate texture and are green with a subtle silvery or golden sheen, creating a soft, flowing effect in the garden. In late summer to autumn, it produces feathery, plume-like flower heads that are typically silver or pale pink, rising above the foliage and adding a light, airy texture. As the season progresses, the foliage turns a warm, golden brown, enhancing the plant's visual appeal throughout the year.

Cultural

Thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. It prefers well-drained soil rich in organic matter and is relatively drought-tolerant once established. Cut back the foliage to ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth begins to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage fresh growth.

Landscape Uses

Create a dramatic effect with mass planting, using it to form attractive grassy swathes or define different areas of the garden. Its refined, arching foliage makes it an excellent choice for edging garden beds or pathways. Additionally, its drought tolerance makes it well-suited for low-water or dry gardens, where it can thrive with minimal irrigation.
