Cotinus x 'Grace'
Commonly called the Smoke Bush likely due its striking plumes of flower resembling puffs of hazy smoke wafting from the shrub. It's true feature though is attractive oval shaped leaves that remain purple for most of the year.
Cultural
Will grow in full sun to part shade in a wide range of soil types. Once established is quite a vigorous grower and requires minimal watering. Will grow in an upright branching habit and is relatively pest resistant. Cut back late winter to promote new growth.
Landscape Uses
Great as a feature plant with its colourful foliage or planted
en masse for informal screening and hedging.
