One of the most popular ornamental grasses, 'Karl Foerster' is known for its majestic long-lasting plumes and hardiness. Its foliage is a deep green and has a neat upright, clumping growth habit. Stalks of up to 1.8m arise in spring capped with wheat coloured feathery seed heads, seeds are sterile. Foliage and plumes move graciously in the wind.

Cultural

Prefers a full sun to part shade position and can tolerate most soil types, doing well in heavy clay soils. Cut foliage to the ground in late winter.
