Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster'
One of the most popular ornamental grasses, 'Karl Foerster' is known for its majestic long-lasting plumes and hardiness. Its foliage is a deep green and has a neat upright, clumping growth habit. Stalks of up to 1.8m arise in spring capped with wheat coloured feathery seed heads, seeds are sterile. Foliage and plumes move graciously in the wind.
Cultural
Prefers a full sun to part shade position and can tolerate most soil types, doing well in heavy clay soils. Cut foliage to the ground in late winter.

Beautiful as a specimen or backdrop plant, great mass planted or as a border, perfect for narrow spaces and in heavy clay areas.
