Bring colour and nature into the garden, with Silver Princess’s large pink/red blossoms flowering from Winter through to Spring, serving up nectar for native birds. Together with its striking stems that age from red/brown to white, and its trunk's minni-ritchi (peeling) bark, it creates a wonderful, ornamental statement in any garden.

Cultural

Prefers well-drained soil and part to full sun. It can tolerate light frost and is drought resistant once established. Plant in Autumn and water well through it's first summer. Prune selectively for shaping, or if the branches need some weight reduction to avoid snapping. Due to its lignotuber, Silver Princess can be coppiced to produce a more shrubby look, or to use the new growth in arrangements.

Landscape Uses

Use Silver Princess as a feature plant, with its striking flowers and large gumnuts. Working with the naturally pendulous form, it could be shaped (using support) to create a gateway or arbour in the garden. Its open structure allows for underplanting, and the overall appearance makes it a great addition to any garden. Its low water use makes it perfect for native and drought tolerant gardens, however it will still look at home in a floral cottage garden setting.
