Pieris japonica 'Temple Bells'
An elegant slow growing evergreen shrub. New growth is a bronze-red colour, turning to an attractive glossy dark green when older. Clusters of light pink buds open to gorgeous white bell shaped flowers in winter.
Cultural
Prefers a part shade position protected from the afternoon sun. Grows best in an acidic, humus rich, well-drained soil. Deadhead spent flowers directly after flowering.
Landscape Uses
Use in mixed garden plantings or as an informal hedge in semi shaded areas. Combines well with Azalea, Camellia, Hydrangea and Helleborus.
