Andrew Smith began his career as a young nursery apprentice with Warners Nurseries, laying a foundation of passion, expertise, and mentorship that has spanned 38 years. His love for plants and dedication to the craft were evident from the start, particularly through his early involvement with the Camellia Society, where he quickly stood out as one of its youngest and most enthusiastic members.

Over the years, Andrew’s expertise has grown, and he has generously shared his knowledge with young professionals, inspiring the next generation of Horticulturists. His mentorship has fostered new talent and ensured that his commitment to quality and innovation continues to influence the industry.

Andrew is a respected judge of the Victorian Landscape Industry Awards and a key figure at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. His contributions have made him a pillar of the Victorian horticulture sector. Known as “Mr. MIFGS,” his enthusiasm, professionalism, and collaborative spirit make him an admired presence in the community.

Recently, Andrew received a Lifetime Membership from Landscaping Victoria (LV), a huge honour recognising his significant contributions to the Landscaping industry. In addition to serving on the LV board his plant knowledge, enthusiasm, and desire to see improvements in plants, production, garden design and maintenance have earned him respect in the industry.
