This tree is relatively easily grown, but adequate moisture in the first year is necessary to ensure that the tree will establish. Does not require pruning apart from removing dead or broken branches. Thrives in a moist and sunny environment.
Fertilise during growth season.
Pyrus nivalis make ideal specimen trees or nature strip plantings. Great for long driveways or avenues. The fruit may also be used to make pear cider.
