Our Plants

Prunus lusitanica

A large bushy evergreen shrub/spreading small tree. Glossy dark green leaves with slender spikes of small, scented white flowers in Summer.

CULTURAL

Prefers a moist well drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. For best results fertilise with a long term slow release fertiliser in early Spring, and prune to shape when required. Will tolerate dry periods and is frost hardy when established.

LANDSCAPE USE

A very effective hedging/screening plant that can be kept clipped from 1-4 metres, or left to grow into a small spreading tree. Its dark glossy green leaves will provide an ideal backdrop for other plants in the garden. It is very showy when in full flower.
