Our Plants

Magnolia x 'Bubbles' (syn Michelia)

A wonderful evergreen small tree bred by crossing Magnolia doltsopa and Michelia figo. 'Bubbles' has attractive pointed, glossy green leaves and will eventually grow into a pyramid shaped small tree. Its white flowers with pale pink margins open during late Winter/Spring and are slightly fragrant.

CULTURAL

These prefer a moist, fertile and well drained soil that is slightly acidic, so when planting it helps if the position has been prepared that way. A warm, sunny aspect is best, though they do tolerate partial shade. We advise an annual application of good quality fertiliser in Spring, and mulching and watering during the drier months especially when the plant is establishing itself.

LANDSCAPE USE

A good upright small tree with lighter green foliage for screening.
