Our Plants

Camellia japonica 'Betty Ridley'

‘One of the very best’. An upright plant with large formal double, clear pink flowers.

CULTURAL

This tall, bushy grower likes partly shade conditions. Pink varieties will generally take more sun than white varieties. Well drained, slightly acidic soil. Dense shade restricts flowering. Fertilise in Spring and Summer with a specific Camellia fertiliser or a complete organic fertiliser. Prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape.

LANDSCAPE USES

Fantastic flowering garden shrubs, very hardy and drought tolerant once established. Suitable for growing in containers in small courtyard or entertaining areas. Plant with other traditional favourites like Azaleas, Pieris and Helleborus.
