A lovely evergreen foliage plant with green glossy leaves with deep bronze-red new growth. Scented cream flowers emerge during Summer followed by decorative dark blue fruit. A slow growing large shrub in Melbourne but will get considerably larger in warmer climates. E. eumundii foliage is broader and more lush than E. reticulatus.
Prefers a moist well drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. For best results fertilise with a long term slow release fertiliser in early Spring, and prune to shape when required. Frost tender when young. Will grow best in a warm position.
Its upright growth habit means it is suitable along fence lines where dense screening is required and where there is limited space. Its beautiful lush foliage will add interest and contrast to the garden and give it a more sub tropical style.
